*MY HAIR CARE ROUTINE*Disclaimer:
I am in no way a hair care expert. All statements below are my full OPINION! :)
So many people lately have asked me how I got my hair to stay healthy and mainly how I got it to grow 4 inches in just 4 months. Well, just one month ago I finally found the perfect hair products! I have long, super thick, wavy hair which tends to be very oily. All of my products can be found at any drug store such as CVS, Rite Aid, Walgreens, Wamart, etc. Keep reading if you want to know exactly which products I use and how/when I use them! Xoxo!
MY ROUTINE:The very first thing I do when I get in the shower is shampoo my hair. The reason being, when you shampoo your hair first, it rids of all bacteria, oils, and toxins which trickle down your body since your hair is at the top of your head & gravity obviously pulls down. By shampooing your hair first, you're stripping it of all oils. Since my hair is long and super thick, it tends to get weighed down but with this shampoo I've found it restores the volume to my hair!
John Frieda: Luxurious Volume Thickening Shampoo
Use the desired amount that best suits your hair. For me, I squeeze & count to 2, that usually gives me enough product. I rub my hands together & then disperse the shampoo on my hair - focusing on my roots and scalp. You want to FULLY lather your hair until it feels like your hands are massaging foam. Once you feel it's lathered enough, go ahead and rinse... MAKE SURE YOU RINSE UNDER YOUR HAIR! People often forget to rinse that area and it causes build-up which makes your hair oily faster than normal!
Organix: Rejuvenating Cherry Blossom Ginseng Conditioner
After you've rinsed all of the shampoo out of your hair, next is conditioner! With my hair being naturally oily, I find that I have to use conditioner EVERY single time I take a shower. I take an amount no bigger than the size of a dollar coin on the palm of my hand, rub my hands together, grab my hair at my neck line, & begin rubbing the conditioner all the way through until my ends. With conditioner, you want to mainly focus on the ends of your hair since that's the part that gets the driest & gets split ends. Make sure you EVENLY rub this through your hair. AVOID GETTING ANY ON YOUR SCALP - it will just cause your hair to get oily! After this is in your hair, twist your hair & tie into a bun. With conditioner, you need to let it sit in your hair in order for the vitamins to work correctly! While your hair in in a bun, that is when you should finish washing the rest of your body. Once you're done washing your body, go ahead and undo your bun, rinse out your conditioner COMPLETELY & get out of the shower.
Organix: Nourishing Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum
When you get out of the shower, go ahead and dry off your body & dry your hair with a towel. Take this serum and pump TWO squirts into the palm of your hand, rub your hands together, grab your hair at your neck line, and begin applying the product to your hair. With the serum you want to focus MAINLY on the ENDS of your hair where the breakage tends to happen. Again, AVOID GETTING ANY OF THIS PRODUCT ON YOUR SCALP! Once you think you've evenly applied the serum to the end of your hair, rinse off your hands. Brush through your hair to make sure there are NO knots. Pump another 2 (or 1) squirts into the palm of your hand and repeat the process you just did before brushing you hair. With your hair being unknotted, it's allowing the product to work evenly. With whatever product is left over on the palm of your hand, take the ends of your hair and just swirl it in the product. It's really important you keep as much product on the end of your hair as possible. Then, I usually twist my hair in a Turbie Twist or you can just wrap your hair in the towel. By doing this, it keeps the product from dripping out of your hair. After about 30 minutes, you can go ahead and release the towel and let your hair air dry!
With just using this product I've noticed my hair gets less dead ends and it has helped my hair grow! Not even kidding! The best thing is that it prevents frizz! I used to be a HUGE frizz ball if I ever let my hair air dry but now I can!!
After your hair dries and you notice it's a little more shiny than you would like it to be, or a little more oily... I recommending using 1 or 2 less pumps of the serum, but do not go without it!
